2. Acceptable Uses
The Service is designed for personal fishing enthusiasts. The following uses are expressly permitted:
- Personal fishing logging — Recording your own fishing trips, catches, conditions, and gear for personal record-keeping and improvement.
- Sharing catches with friends — Using the buddy validation and sharing features to share your fishing experiences with other anglers you personally know.
- Using AI insights for personal improvement — Applying the AI-generated pattern analysis and recommendations to improve your own fishing technique, gear selection, and trip planning.
- Exploring historical data — Reviewing and analyzing your personal catch history, trip records, and trends over time.
- Participating in community features — Engaging with leaderboards and shared features in a respectful and good-faith manner.
3. Prohibited Uses
The following uses of the Service are strictly prohibited:
Data Harvesting and Scraping
- Scraping, crawling, or systematically harvesting data from the Service by any means.
- Using automated bots, scripts, or tools to extract content, user data, or platform information.
- Accessing the Service through any automated means other than standard browser or official app use.
Harmful or Harassing Content
- Sharing, uploading, or transmitting content that harasses, intimidates, or threatens other users.
- Posting abusive, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable content.
- Impersonating other users, real persons, or any entity.
Commercial Misuse of AI Insights
- Reselling, licensing, or otherwise commercially redistributing AI-generated insights, pattern analyses, or recommendations produced by the Service.
- Incorporating AI insights from the Service into commercial products, services, or publications without express written permission from CaptAIn's Log.
False or Fabricated Data
- Uploading, submitting, or logging false, fabricated, or deliberately misleading catch data, trip records, or any other information on the Service.
- Manipulating catch records or leaderboard standings through dishonest means.
Unauthorized Access
- Attempting to access, view, or modify another user's private data, trips, catches, or account information without their explicit authorization.
- Attempting to circumvent authentication, authorization, or any other security mechanisms of the Service.
- Probing, scanning, or testing the vulnerability of the Service or any associated systems.
Other Prohibited Activities
- Using the Service in any way that violates applicable local, state, national, or international law.
- Transmitting malware, viruses, or any other malicious code.
- Interfering with or disrupting the integrity or performance of the Service.
- Sharing your account credentials with third parties or allowing unauthorized access to your account.
4. Consequences of Violation
Violations of this Acceptable Use Policy may result in the following actions at our sole discretion:
- Warning — For minor or first-time violations, we may issue a warning and require corrective action.
- Account suspension — Temporary suspension of your account pending investigation or while corrective action is taken.
- Account termination — Permanent termination of your account and removal of your access to the Service for serious or repeated violations.
- Legal action — We reserve the right to pursue civil or criminal legal remedies where we deem it appropriate, including reporting activity to law enforcement.
We may take any of the above actions without prior notice, particularly where the violation poses a risk to other users, the Service, or third parties.
